Working with Bahir Dar University, Wachemo University, and Hawassa University, the African Center for Early Childhood Development has commenced baseline studies on the status of early childhood development in three Ethiopian regions: Amhara, Sidama, and Central Ethiopia. The baseline studies will inform the design of the regions' early childhood development programs.

The Center also supported the dissemination of the results of a completed baseline study in Dire Dawa. The city's mayor publicly launched his early childhood development program at the event, which will feature parental coaching by health extension workers who will be trained by the Center.
Together with Addis Ababa and Oromia, the Center is now actively supporting six regions as part of Ethiopia's national commitment to early childhood development.
